Playlist for Monday, April 21
I'm pleased to present today the GPB (and radio?) premiere of music inspired by a trip to theMiddle East. It's the Sinai Symphony by Georgia's own Doug Hooker, as performed February 5 by the LaGrange Symphony. Listen in the noon hour.
Just about everything else on Midday Music is a concert tie-in. Pianist Alexander Kobrin, violinist Vadim Gluzman, recorder player Marion Verbruggen and pianist John O'Conor all perform in Georgia this week (in Athens, Augusta, Atlanta and Valdosta, respectively). Mozart's Marriage of Figaro and Bernstein's Candide are both on stage in Atlanta. See concert list with links, above.
