Georgia concerts of note, all connected to today's Midday Music:
- Atlanta Symphony harpist Elisabeth Remy Johnson performs Debussy and Ravel with the orchestra, and Robert Spano also conducts Milhaud and Gershwin, Thursday through Saturday in Atlanta. (For my chat with Elisabeth a couple of years ago, listen to the second-to-last interview here.)
- The Augusta Choral Society performs Maurice Durufle's Requiem and more in a Friday concert dedicated to the memory of Melvin Brown, the ACS's longtime artistic director.
- Saturday the Macon Symphony offers Piazzolla, Prokofiev, Kodaly, and the "triple treat" of violinist-pianist-soprano Janice Martin.
- Edgar Meyer, Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas bring their bass-mandolin-dobro combo to Atlanta's Ferst Center on Friday and Columbus's RiverCenter on Saturday.
