Couple of concerts of note:
- Tomorrow, October 9, the LaGrange Symphony performs Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with soloist Anastasia Agapova and Beethoven's "Eroica" Symphony. Please tune in to Tuesday's Midday Music, noon hour, for a chat with the LaGrange Symphony's music director, Chilean-born conductor and violinist Patricio Cobos, and a recording of Beethoven's Third. (Today on GPB we hear the Tchaikovsky, with violinist Julia Fischer.)
- Thursday through Saturday, Pinchas Zukerman guest-conducts the Atlanta Symphony. They'll play Saint-Saens' "Organ" Symphony, a couple of French violin showpieces, and Haydn's "Hen" Symphony (which we hear this morning).
- Tonight in Columbus, it's organ time. CSU's Schwob School of Music presents organist Boyd Jones in a free concert at 7:30 in RiverCenter's Legacy Hall, playing Charles Ives' Variations on America, Bach's Canonic Variations on Vom Himmel Hoch and more.
