It's Frederic Chopin's 200th birthday. Happy Chopin bicentennial! Where would piano music be without him? Romantic music? Music altogether? Even his etudes ("studies") have the power to move. The Chopin celebration kicks off today - with Garrick Ohlsson playing etudes, Nelson Freire playing a sonata and Emanuel Ax in a piece for piano and orchestra - and continues all week on GPB.
