Special note of a new Americana release we're sampling, from Jeff Tyzik and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra: Honor: Portraits of America. Proceeds benefit a Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester, New York.

Memorial Day has such a split identity, doesn't it: it's a time to remember and reflect and even mourn, on the one hand, and on the other a traditional time for picnics and road trips and summertime fun.
