After the supernaturally difficult Piano Sonata by Paul Dukas - which Marc-Andre Hamelin apparently dispatches without benefit of charms, spells or wand - Midday Music turns magical. Listen for Dukas's better-known work The Sorcerer's Apprentice, selections from the Harry Potter films and assorted other musical enchantments. Wizards are just in the air this week. (At least, they are in my household, where three people have been delicately sharing a single copy of the final Harry Potter book.)
