Georgia connections: Violinist Sergiu Schwartz, who soars through Strauss in our first hour, teaches at Columbus State University (and will be featured in concerto appearances in Columbus and LaGrange later this season). The prizewinning young Daedalus Quartet opens Spivey Hall's concert season Saturday; we hear their recording of Ravel in the noon hour. And Dvorak's New World Symphony, featured after the one o'clock news, is the headline work on the Macon Symphony's upcoming concert.
