For the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday it's artful arrangements of spirituals in the first hour, with chorus, then piano, then strings. After the noon news, two recent pieces about getting along. From Daniel Bernard Roumain's "Rosa Parks" Quartet we hear "Klap Ur Handz" (a title "suggesting a joyful coming together") and "I made up my mind not to move," and that's followed by Michael Abels' Global Warming, depicting a "noisy yet harmonious world village." The show concludes with a full performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, with its culminating choral ode to joy and brotherhood.
