Straight from the Czech Republic, the Talich Quartet appears in Augusta next Friday, October 12 at Augusta State's Maxwell Theatre, playing Haydn's "Lark" Quartet, Janacek's "Intimate Letters" and Schubert's "Death and the Maiden." (We hear the Talich Quartet three times today: first in that Schubert, and later in Borodin and Mendelssohn.)
At 23 she became concertmaster of the Charleston Symphony. Diana Cohen visits Valdosta to solo in the Chaconne from The Red Violin with the Valdosta Symphony.
